Broadsword - Length & How to Carry
In this lesson you will learn how long your broadsword ( dao ) should be and what's the formal way to carry it. When you carry your broadsword, hold it between the fingers of your left hand. Fingers point forward, palm points up. If you now fully extend your elbow, the top of the sword should be at ear height. Straightswords are slightly longer than broadswords.

This is from a philcon VCD I bought a couple of years ago.
Their website philcon.com.cn doesn't exist anymore, but you can try to google them. "PHILCON" ... They used to sell really good instructional wushu VCDs and DVDs.

Shao Nian Quan - Wushu Form
Shao Nian Quan - Kid Style - Wushu Form
This video shows a shao nian form. Shan nian quan ( literally: Kid Style )
is a modern wushu style invented by "Li De Zheng". This style is
used to improve the quality of the movements in kids wushu. It's not really
a famous style, and I actually only put this form online because when I trained
at Song Jiang coach Li visited the school and we trained with him for a few
month. His forms and training methods were welcomed in many wushu schools in
China, but they aren't very popular abroad. Of course there are also weapon forms
in this young style, but unfortunately I don't have any other
shaonianquan forms on video right now.

Standing Lotus Kick - Bai Tui
Learn how to do a standing lotus kick ( bai tui ). Jump from both legs, do an outside circle kick in the air and land on both legs at the same time ( usually in a horse stance ). Always turn to the right, never to the left. Keep your upper body vertical from the very beginning and don't look down to the floor when you are in the air. For 540 and 720 lotus kicks, close your hand and your feet ASAP. Try to finish the kick before you reach the highest point of the jump. Performed by Yang Jia Le, Lu Peng Cheng and Song Long Yong from the Song Jiang Wushu School. Coach: Wang Guang Ming ( wushu head coach ).

2-Hand Whipchain Circle
This video shows how to do a 2 hand whipchain circle ( in chinese: liao bian ). Hold the handle of your whipchain with both hands and swing your whip forward up ( not forward down ). Don't swing your whip too fast at the beginning. Step forward with the left leg when the chain is on the right side and step forward with the right leg when the whipchain is on the left side. However, at the beginning you should work on this technique while standing still. Keep the motion as close as possible to your body, but don't hit your leg. Swing the whip in vetical layers.

Foot Bounce Shot - Wushu Rope Dart
Foot Bounce Shot - Wushu Rope Dart
This video shows how to do a foot bounce shot with a rope dart. This technique
can also be done with the whip chain. Swing your rope dart forward down and
extend your right leg. Turn the toes slightly out clockwise and let the rope
fall on the sole of your foot. Make sure the dart passes on the right side
and not
on
the left side of where the rope first touched your foot. Push with the foot
and let the rope dart bounce off your foot sole. You need quite a lot of timing
for
this trick and it can usually be learned within 30 to 90 minutes.

Ci Dao - Pudao Stab
Ci Dao - Wushu Pudao
This video shows how to do a pudao stab ( in chinese: ci dao ). Hold the pudao
with a left over-grip and a right under-grip ( see video ). Then extend the
weapon with your right arm ( arm parallel to stick ). The left hand stops close
to the right shoulder. Stab the blade of the sword horizontally, not vertically.
Most
pudao
stabs are
executed
at head height and the left leg is raised like shown here. This is the most
basic pudao stab, but of course there are also other stab variations at different
heights and positions.
