Catch Whip - Zhua Bian - Wushu Shuang Bian

The catch whip ( zhua bian ) technique is the opposite to the eject whip ( chu bian ) technique and is done at the end of a double whip chain form. Swing your whip chains forward up and pull them back when they are slightly below shoulder level. Try to catch both chains at the same time.

Empty Circle - Double Whip Chain

This video shows how to do an empty circle swing with two whip chains ( shuang bian ). This is the most basic double whip chain skill, so you should learn this before you try anything else. Stand with one foot in front of the other and hold both whip chains with your thumbs pointing away from your body. Then swing your chains backwards up and move them synchronously and parallel. Keep the circles parallel and look straight forward. After a while swing your whips faster, but make sure you keep moving them in vertical layers.
