Straight Rope Dart Shot - Wushu
This video shows how to do a straight rope dart ( shengbiao / shengbian )
shot. This is the first time you let the dart fly straight forward. Before
you learn
this basic skill, you should learn bow to swing
and hold the rope.
When you shoot the dart, let the rope slide through your
right hand. Walk around while shooting the dart and do some empty swings in-between
the shots. Don't try any complex rope dart techniques without learning this
one first. After
mastering
the straight
rope
dart shot,
you can
try the
elbow
shot.
If
you are scared at the beginning, attach a tennis ball to the rope instead of
a metal dart.
